During a year in which consumer interests zigged and zagged, our global team of researchers were challenged to track and report on food and beverage trends in real time. We watched unexpected trends take root in the wake of COVID-19 (Dalgona coffee, anyone?) while predicted favorites were forgotten with shifting priorities and habits.

As 2020 comes to a close, much of this consumer instability appears to have settled, with people around the world largely valuing food as a means of increasing comfort, health and sustainability.
