His photographs show what’s capable in the kitchen—as well as over the coals of a campfire or on a picturesque beach—for barbecue lovers who enjoy experimenting with meat and smoke. Although Mario’s captions don’t often reveal full recipes, he frequently alludes to ingredients and preparation methods in his mouth-watering posts.

Brazilian consumers are increasingly open to international food, but Brazilian cuisine is still the local favourite. Mocotó Bar e Restaurante captures the best of this in their Instagram feed, showcasing typical and fusion cuisine from the country’s many regions. The Instagram feed for Mad Dona MX makes it clear that the donut can be a vehicle for just about any flavour and food combination. Donuts of assorted varieties are topped with traditional and non-traditional offerings, from chocolate and raspberry glazes to popcorn, seared pears, sliced almonds, chunks of mango and mini pretzels. From bean to mug, this regional producer captures spectacular moments in time that span the range from coffee harvest to consumption. To see the trend toward unexpected fruits in cocktails, visit Guarita Bar. Or, better yet, follow their Instagram feed. The on-staff mixologists regularly snap photos of their classic cocktails as well as riffs on regional favourites featuring bright colours and flavourful add-ins. They also serve up savoury bar food such as pizza and bolovo. Some posts include ingredient lists, if not exact recipes.

The ice cream creations pictured in the Dona Nuvem ice cream shop Instagram feed look almost too interesting to eat. The format tends to be a cone surrounded by a puffy cloud-like ring of cotton candy, topped with a brightly hued tower of soft-serve, and decorated with sprinkles, animal-shaped candies and more. Judging from their quickly growing following, they’ve mastered the novel ice cream trend.

The Brigaderia Oficial Instagram feed highlights coffees and desserts, especially the namesake brigaderios, which can be seen in pictures coated in various eye-catching toppings. The sweet-focused brand does an especially good job of utilising user-generated content through the reposting of pictures captured by patrons.

If you’re looking for contemporary Mexican food inspiration, the Pehüa MX restaurant’s Instagram feed offers a glimpse of gorgeous ingredients and innovative cuisine. One reason the dishes look especially delicious is the eye for detail in each image. Great care goes into presentation and plating, from sprinkles of seeds and herbs to garnishes that complement main courses, including grilled-to-perfection citrus fruits and heart-shaped strawberries.

The food- and recipe-focused Instagram feed of Food Network star Dani Noce highlights some of the novel creations from her show, cookbook and website. The theme sticks with her I Could Kill for Dessert brand, which means sugar, sugar everywhere. Her feed serves as a huge traffic generator for her website: most posts include links back to her site, where the actual recipes are stored.

The food-centric Tastemade empire highlights some of its video and recipe content on regional Instagram handles including Tastemade Brazil and Tastemade Espanol, which serves the rest of LATAM plus Spain. The feeds feature a sampling of original content, though most pics and video clips are teasers that lead back to the free Tastemade app. (Tastemade Plus content costs extra to view.) The foods and beverages pictured are designed to appeal to local tastes, from empanadas to brownies made with sweetened condensed milk. The most popular recipes on the Brazil feed can be tried in person at the new Tastemade brick and mortar café in Sao Paulo.

Fusion food is on the menu—and Instagram feed—of Mexico City’s Hotel Casa Awolly. The kitchen might turn out flatbread pizza topped with serrano ham and figs for one table and fish with chilis and nopales for another. Unique cocktails are also a speciality—recent posts include a jet black carbon-infused tequila drink and a gin, ginger syrup and golden milk concoction. The feed is also used to advertise restaurant hours and promote the spirited dining room and roof deck décor.
