A foodservice customer was working to create a premium, comprehensive iced coffee program. The intention was to elevate the guest experience, ultimately driving traffic and sales. Simplicity was imperative: the customer sought menu items that involved minimal steps, maintained consistency across various beverage formats such as dairy-based coffee, iced coffee and cold brew and had nominal storage space requirements.
By recruiting a team of consumer insights specialists, food scientists and baristas, Kerry was able to present a cold brew coffee solution that reflected market trends as well as the customer’s goals and operational needs. The proposed iced coffee program included a variety of flavors and delivered on the need for operational simplicity. Because we were able to leverage our portfolio of liquid coffee extracts, samples and a small quantity of products needed for the brand’s market store testing program were sent to the customer within short turnaround times.
By drawing from our coffee and cold brew portfolio of liquid coffee extracts, Kerry sensory scientists, chemists and baristas created a market-winning and on-trend cold brew “collection” product. The concept to launch lead time was condensed and the final coffee drinks were easy to share with and launch in the customer’s nationwide network of stores.
