Premium Iced Coffee Launched with Ready-Formulated Coffee Extracts

A foodservice customer was working to create a premium, comprehensive iced coffee program. The intention was to elevate the guest experience, ultimately driving traffic and sales. Simplicity was imperative: the customer sought menu items that involved minimal steps, maintained consistency across various beverage formats such as dairy-based coffee, iced coffee and cold brew and had nominal storage space requirements.

By recruiting a team of consumer insights specialists, food scientists and baristas, Kerry was able to present a cold brew coffee solution that reflected market trends as well as the customer’s goals and operational needs. The proposed iced coffee program included a variety of flavors and delivered on the need for operational simplicity. Because we were able to leverage our portfolio of liquid coffee extracts, samples and a small quantity of products needed for the brand’s market store testing program were sent to the customer within short turnaround times.

After a successful completion of market tests, the customer launched its new iced coffee program nationwide.

“This quick-turnaround nationwide launch was made possible because of our cold brew coffee solutions, which have been a big focus at Kerry over the past few years. The customer was pleased with the product; we anticipate working on similar successes throughout the year.”.

— Tom Kane, Kerry Director of Sales for Foodservice National Chains

The Kerry Difference
