A major U.S. manufacturer of deli meat wanted to expand their brand portfolio by introducing products that were made using only recognizable ingredients. However, they had struggled to deliver the desired taste without the use of flavors. They came to Kerry seeking a clean label deli meat solution.
Utilizing Kerry’s taste creation and application expertise, Kerry addressed the common customer challenge by developing UltraClean, a line of impactful savory taste products that used only real food ingredients. In meat products, the UltraClean line delivered comparable taste and functional performance to traditional meat flavors without having to add “flavor” to the ingredient declaration. Instead, in a sample chicken product using UltraClean, the ingredient declaration was simply dried chicken broth, salt, honey, onion powder, carrot juice concentrate and garlic powder. The customer was impressed by the taste and clean label capabilities of the solution.
For the UltraClean line, Kerry captured the great tastes found in nature and translated them into authentic, natural and clean taste profiles. Kerry’s team of meat experts helped the customer create well-received applications.
