Create an on-trend alcohol that delivers the taste of cold brew coffee

A global alcohol brand we regularly work with was interested in diversifying its traditional Irish whiskey offerings. They brought to us an idea that was original and also on-trend: adding a cold brew coffee infused product to their whiskey line.


Approach

Blending traditions to create a distinct new whiskey taste

The brand’s original Irish whiskey was already world-renowned for its smooth taste. Our flavourists knew that adding Fairtrade Arabica coffee to the blend would bring roasted coffee richness with hints of toasted oak and dark chocolate while maintaining the whiskey’s drinkability. Using cold brew coffee extracts from the Simply Nature™ portfolio—with coffee beans from Columbia and Brazil—we were able to deliver a product that complemented the brand’s existing formulation, creating a cold brew infused Irish whiskey that could be served over ice or in cocktails.

Impact

Following a successful limited-edition launch in Europe, the cold brew flavoured whiskey made its debut in the U.S. It’s now a permanent addition to the brand’s product line.
